Reckon Partners with The Career Academy to Future-Proof Graduates
Latest alliance further reinforces Reckon’s commitment to bridging
the gap between accounting graduate skillset and actual industry
demand
SYDNEY, Australia – 15 October, 2018 – Australian accounting software provider Reckon (ASX:RKN) has today announced a new partnership with The Career Academy, aimed at equipping students with hands-on experience using its flagship cloud accounting software Reckon One. The move comes off the back of rising demand from the accounting and bookkeeping industry for graduate talent with practical know-how across multiple accounting software platforms.
As part of the alliance, thousands students from The Career Academy will gain access to Reckon One via a 10-week course. In addition to learning how to use the software efficiently, they will also gain applied knowledge needed to interpret financial data and consequently, make strategic business decisions.
On completion, students will become accredited Reckon Cloud Advisors – gaining unprecedented access to a strong support network and resources to do their jobs more effectively. Students will also gain a student membership to the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB). “At The Career Academy, we follow a deliberate strategy of innovation to deliver on what students want, which is essentially training that enhances their career prospects,” said Daniel Hunt, CEO, The Career Academy. “While a decade ago, there were only two major accounting software programs used in the industry, the market has dramatically evolved since. It is crucial for us to keep pace with these changes in software adoption to ensure our students remain relevant.”
The latest partnership further reinforces Reckon’s commitment to bridging the gap between graduate skillset and actual industry demand. It follows two other strategic alliances the company has previously forged in the education sector with TAFE and Open Colleges. “The Career Academy has shown great foresight in recognising the ongoing technology evolution 1 by updating its courses to include training underpinned by cloud-based software.
Such agility will ensure that graduates are future-proofed and better prepared for the jobs of today and tomorrow, increasing their attractiveness to potential employers as well,” said Sam Allert, CEO for Reckon. With operations across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland, The Career Academy is home to over 20,000 students each year.
The Reckon One courseware will be offered across Australia and New Zealand in the first instance, with plans for expansion into the UK in the pipeline. Students will have a choice of either accessing the Reckon One courseware via a standalone software training course, or as part of a bundle under the main Certificate in Business Booking course.
