Seasons greetings! The holiday season is upon us, and the new year is fast approaching. 2024 was packed full of challenges and successes, so at Reckon, the leadership team wanted to share with you our holiday messages:

Sam Allert, Chief Executive Officer

2024 has been another year full of challenges and victories. A major milestone for me personally would have to be the pride in my daughter for finishing and graduating high school. Looking back on the year professionally, I can certainly say that we have achieved a lot as a company and we continue to take giant leaps forward in our strategies. Our staff turnover is at a record low and our staff engagement is at a record high. The market sees our software’s quality, our service, and our affordability, and our products continue to resonate with accountants and bookkeepers. I’m especially pleased to note that our partner sales team achieved their full-year budget in October. It’s been one of the biggest years of sales to date from new and existing partners, and I couldn’t be more proud of the Reckon team effort.

In the new year, I look forward to our continued commitment to supporting our customers, growing our cloud software, and engaging in the wider community, much like we did with our Grassroots Accounting campaign. I wish everyone a happy holiday, a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. Bring on 2025!

Luke Sorbara, Head of Support

I’ve really enjoyed 2024; it’s been a fulfilling year. I’m proud of my team; they work hard to assist our customers. This year, the support team focused on empowering our customers to resolve issues. We updated our help articles and documentation and championed our Reckon Community page, where customers and our accounting partners engage with each other. To cap off 2024, we’ve had one of our best years in customer satisfaction, as we currently sit at 9.1/10 in customer support, with over 8,000 customers surveyed!

I look forward to improving our live chat support option and providing the best solutions for Reckon customers in 2025. The support team and I here at Reckon want to wish our customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Angela Morris, Head of Direct Sales & Customer Service

2024 has been a year of growth for all of us at Reckon.

Our customer service team has been proud to support and expand our client base, warmly welcoming many new customers—especially Australian Sage One users who needed a new platform to call home. We’ve also loved adding a personal touch to our service by introducing our new onboarding system, which connects our consultants and customers through online appointments.
It’s a privilege to work alongside such a fun, dedicated, and hard-working team that consistently brings their best.

On behalf of the Customer Service team, I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We’re excited for 2025 and remain committed to delivering world-class customer service every step of the way.

Jessica Morris, Head of People & Culture

At Reckon, 2024 was an excellent year for all our employees! We welcomed 17 new faces and happily promoted five well-deserving superstars. As Head of People & Culture, I was incredibly proud of Reckon’s certification as a Great Place To Work for 2024-2025. It has been so fulfilling to see that our employees thrive in our workplace and be part of the culture that makes Reckon, Reckon.

It has been great to show off our team with our company culture videos on LinkedIn, including our take on The Office. I am also happy that we have run our amazing social events and charity drives to get people involved in their community and the community at large.

In 2025, we will continue to care for our employees’ well-being, deliver an exceptional employee experience and hope to add a few new stars to the Reckon team! I wish everyone a happy holiday and New Year!

Brad Stevens, Head of Marketing

From digital PR campaigns to Reckon’s brand refresh, the marketing team has been busy in 2024. Changing your brand isn’t easy, but our identity and how we present ourselves relate to our mantra of ‘All for small.’ It has also been an absolute privilege to be featured in major news outlets such as the Australian Financial Review, ABC and Channel 7 for our campaigns on ‘Start-up cities’, ‘Most Hated Corporate Jargon’ and ‘Gender Imbalances in Small Business’. 

These initiatives underscored our commitment to advocating for small business success and sparking meaningful conversations. We also made significant strides on social media:

  • Grew our Instagram following by nearly 1,000 and reached 1.6 million users.
  • Increased Facebook content interactions by an incredible 469%, with a total reach of 3.6 million people.
  • Added 2,000 new LinkedIn followers to our growing community.

Part of this success has been our investment in video content and evolving our tone of voice to better connect with our audience. More than just building our brand, 2024 was about increasing awareness of the features and enhancements that make a real difference for our small business customers. As we head into 2025, we’re excited to launch even more campaigns and initiatives to support your growth and success.

Alex Alexandrou, General Manager – Operations

2024 has been an incredible year of delivering further value to our small business customers, bookkeepers and accountants. I was thrilled to be part of our new partnership and integration with Beam, a super payments clearing software that we include free as part of your payroll subscription.

Additionally, it was exciting to launch Open Banking with our partnership with Australia’s leading independent provider of secure bank data services, and to introduce WABI, an all-in-one POS software for hospitality businesses. These new relationships are part of our commitment to providing extra functionality and value to our customers and their bookkeepers and accountants.

To cap off the year, it was amazing to see the turnout at our Reckonnect conferences across Australia and have hundreds of our long term Reckon Partners as well as new Cloud Advisors, attend. In 2025, we look forward to delivering more value, exciting product updates and education to our customers and their advisors, giving them the best chance at success. Kelly Jennings, Head of Research & Design

This year the Research and Design Team has been focused on speaking with more of our customers, as we design new features in Reckon One. We’ve heard from nearly 4,000 customers this year alone, ensuring that we capture the needs of our customers as we make the designs as intuitive and easy to use as we can.

We also began rolling out our new design system in Reckon One, providing a fresh, modern interface to support you as you undertake your tasks. We look forward to working with our customers in 2025 as we design more features to support you as you run your business.

Capping off 2024
