Clients come out on top at BRW client choice awards

Accountants

It’s an incredibly competitive time in the professional services industry. Business models are changing and modern businesses are reaping the benefits. This was particularly noticeable at the BRW Client Choice Awards last month.

The client wins. Every victor at the BRW Client Choice Awards was an example of how the client has really become the winner out of the changing accounting firm and law firm business models.

Relationships shown to be core to winning firms

The BRW Client Choice Awards are based on the 2014 Annual Business and Professions Study conducted by Beaton Research and Consulting.

Just recently, the winner of Best Professional Services Firm with revenues over $200 million, Herbert Smith Freehills deputy senior partner Mark Crean, was quoted in BRW discussing how the law firm is seconding partners and lawyers to client firms.

He said “We’ve got a client we’re doing a partner secondment to at the moment. They’re a fast-growing smaller firm who don’t have a huge budget today but still want their risk input and legal input to be top notch – and our firm will learn from that dynamic kind of environment.”

On the night I spoke with Wayne Healy from Lawler Chartered Accountants in Perth. Lawlers won two awards – One for Best Client Relationship Management, something close to our heart at Reckon, and the other for Best provider as rated by the C-Suite (CEOs, CFOs and COOs).

Wayne said “They were thrilled to be recognised by our clients as being the best at maintaining and sustaining quality relationships. This is most critical for the future success of the Lawler Chartered Accountants and a wonderful reward as we join the PKF Alliance in March this year.”

Congratulations to all the BRW Client Choice Award winners.
