Are you aware of what forms you\u2019ll need?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee agreement<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first new employee form you\u2019ll need will be your new employee agreement. An employee agreement is an essential document necessary for every new employee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each employee agreement needs to, at the very least, comply with the legal requirements laid out by the Australian Government, as stipulated by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairwork.gov.au\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fair Work Ombudsman<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why do you need an employee agreement?\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every employee needs to understand (and agree to) the demands of the organisation and the requirements of the role that they\u2019re undertaking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An employee agreement will clarify wages, role requirements, rights and what\u2019s expected of the employee in exchange for remuneration.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An employee agreement usually includes (but is not limited to)<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full employee details and contact information including bank details, TFN and emergency contacts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Title and details of the expectations of the role.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employer policies, including HR, privacy, social media, and work from home.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any necessary requirements of the role (driver\u2019s license)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mode of employment, such as part time or full time, and the hours required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place of employment, such as the primary address.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Payment or remuneration details including wages, bonuses, overtime, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reckon.com\/au\/small-business-resources\/payday-super\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"50\">superannuation<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Details of employee leave entitlements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any protections of employer\u2019s intellectual property or non-compete clauses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee termination and probation details.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visa requirements.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The employee agreement form can be extended on as desired by the organisation, within the constraints of the law.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Always check with Fair Work that your new employee agreement is lawful and complies with necessary information collection and dispersal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legal advice on drafting new employee contract is often sought by many employers (and is recommended).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ATO new employee forms<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for the Australian Tax Office, your new employee will have to fill out the below. These payroll and STP related forms are available online through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ato.gov.au\/businesses-and-organisations\/hiring-and-paying-your-workers\/single-touch-payrollsingle-touch-payroll-for-employees\/new-employees\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ATO<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and will link with your new employee\u2019s MyGov account for ease and accuracy.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tax file number declaration<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">superannuation (super) standard choice<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">withholding declaration<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medicare levy variation declaration<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fair Work Information Statement<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On top of ensuring that your new employee agreement conforms to the letter of the law, you\u2019ll also need to provide your new employee with a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairwork.gov.au\/employment-conditions\/information-statements\/fair-work-information-statement\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fair Work information Statement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This statement includes awards, employee rights, termination rights and other information necessary for a new employee to understand how they can be legally treated and what recourse they have if they feel their employment rights have been violated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a mandatory requirement of all employers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee onboarding<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee onboarding is a process of getting your new employee up to speed with their role and your organisation as well as getting your systems ready.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee onboarding is certainly not limited to forms and agreements.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a quick new employee onboarding checklist to ponder.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New employee checklist<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b>Logistics<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide all new employee agreements, as above.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide all equipment necessary for the role.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure passwords, logins and required systems and software are detailed and ready.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detail any access requirements and workplace rules.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist in detailing close by shops, services, and transport.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Outline your business\u2019s layout and run through any facilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Company overview<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give an overview of all employees and roles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give overview of company history.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detail the organisation\u2019s vision and goals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give detail of your customers and intended market.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detail your products and services.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Role overview<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide extensive details of role responsibilities and goals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure they have what they need to succeed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Map out direct reports and \u2018chain of command\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introduce them to colleagues and other employees, detailing their role and when to approach them for assistance.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you\u2019ve laid out your new employee agreements, considered the Fair Work requirements and run through your new employee onboarding process and new employee checklist, you\u2019re well on your way to welcoming a productive (and legal) new employee into your
