INTRODUCTION<\/p>\n
After moving away from Julia Creek in her 20s and chasing other careers, Amanda found herself drawn back to her small hometown in Queensland.<\/p>\n
Upon her return she discovered that the local clothing shop was for sale. She thought, \u2018OK, I\u2019ll give that a go!\u2019 Now, five years later, she\u2019s running Gravel and Grace, her own clothing boutique<\/a>, fitted out in bricks and mortar and for eCommerce too.<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t wait for opportunity\u2026 create it, they say. Not only that, but she had no real experience of the compliance side of business ownership, like bookkeeping and payroll. After coming from a range of careers and roles, from commercial property management, to massage, there was a lot of knowledge to gain in a short period of time.<\/p>\n As Amanda says herself \u2018it’s been a massive learning curve!\u2019<\/p>\n To top it off, her hometown also had to deal with a flood, a drought, and of course, the pandemic.
